20% of UK 'struggles' to manage debt
Research from the Money Advice Trust has shown that the number of people getting help from free debt advice agencies increased last year to 1.54 million people, compared to 1.4 million in 2010.
The charity says around 10 million people in the UK, around 20% of the adult population, find themselves in a ''constant struggle'' to manage their debts.
Joanna Elson is the Chief Executive of the Money Advice Trust and she told the BBC it is important for people to "find a sustainable plan to get finances back on track".
