PM to hold talks on rising insurance costs

The prime minister is holding a summit at Downing Street today, to discuss ways of bringing down the rising cost of insurance, particularly for cars.

David Cameron wants to clamp down on the growing number of false claims for compensation, which have helped push up the average bill by nearly a fifth in the past year.

Speaking to the BBC, Malcolm Tarling from the Association of British Insurers (ABI) explained why the cost of car insurance has soared.
