Morocco re-invests in tourism

Nearly 10 million people visited Morocco last year, with the money they spent from the medina of Marrakech to the wilds of the Sahara making tourism the second biggest contributor to GDP.

Yearly visitor numbers more than doubled between 2000 and 2010, and the government plans to double them again by 2020.

But since the global finacial crisis investors have been more difficult to find, so the government is putting its own money into many projects to help the tourism industry continue to grow.

Simon Atkinson reports.
