Unemployment down to 2.6m but long-term jobless rises
Unemployment has fallen for the fourth month in a row, to just under 2.6 million, but the number of people out of work for more than two years has risen to a 15 year high.
And with forecasts for the economy still looking gloomy, the Chancellor, George Osborne, has announced a new financing deal aimed at boosting expenditure on big infrastructure projects.
