British Gas profits rise thanks to 'cold summer'

The company which owns British Gas, Centrica, says the cold start to the summer helped the company make £345m in the first six months of the year.

But consumer groups say British Gas Residential and other energy companies have been quick to pass on increases in wholesale costs, but slow to cut prices when they fall.
