Mervyn King says government must do more to boost economy

Bank of England Governor Sir Mervyn King has called for further action to boost the UK's ailing economy.

Speaking to CBI delegates in Northern Ireland, Mr King said economic recovery in Britain had been noticeably slower than in many other countries.

He urged the government to do more to restore confidence in the banking system and to implement reforms to boost investment and spending.
