Google defends UK tax arrangements

The internet firm, Google, has defended its tax arrangements during an appearance before a committee of MPs.

It rejected claims it had tried to disguise the way the business operated, to minimise its tax bill in the UK.

Google's head of sales in Northern Europe, Matt Brittin, told the Public Accounts Committee that tax was paid in Ireland because no money changed hands in Britain.
