HMRC's Jim Harra: Tackling tax avoidance 'a priority'

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has said more needs to be done to address the problem of multinational companies shifting profits into tax havens.

Director General for Business Tax for Jim Harra said the HMRC does a 'good job' tacking tax avoidance given the legal framework under which it operates.

Mr Harra said David Cameron would use Britain's presidency of the G8 in 2013 to have the international tax rules reviewed.
