Tepco to get more government help

The Japanese government says it will step in to help the company that owns the nuclear power plant in Japan that was crippled by the 2011's earthquake and tsunami.

Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco) continues to grapple with problems at its Fukushima nuclear plant.

Radioactive water has been leaking into the Pacific Ocean since the plant was damaged.

The whole crisis has been costly and because of safety concerns related to Fukushima, Japan has yet to restart any of its 50 nuclear power plants, forcing it to rely on expensive energy imports.

Penn Bowers, a research analyst at CLSA Asia Pacific in Tokyo, told Asia Business Report that the government will likely take an even bigger role in Tepco.
