Indonesia awaits economic statement

Indonesia's president is going to announce his plans to tackle inflation and grow jobs later on Friday.

Indonesia's markets and its currency, the rupiah, have been battered lately because of concerns about the end of cheap money in emerging markets.

But officials insist fundamentals are still strong and that Indonesia can weather this storm.
