Fashion retailer ASOS pleases investors with bumper profits

Online British fashion retailer ASOS has delighted investors by reporting a rise in total sales by 47% translating to £208m in its final quarter to the end of August.

Whereas retailers on the high street have suffered, ASOS has bucked the trend and managed to build on profits.

The company does little advertising and sales have been boosted by their customers' word-of-mouth recommendations via social media sites.
