Obama nominates Janet Yellen as Federal Reserve boss

President Obama has nominated Janet Yellen as the new US Federal Reserve chair.

He said she was "committed to increasing employment and understands the human costs when Americans can't find a job".

He added that Ms Yellen, the current vice-chair of the Federal Reserve, was a proven leader.
