Osborne on GDP: 'Britain's hard work is paying off'
Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne has said "Britain's hard work is paying off" after GDP increased by 0.8% between July and September.
The Office for National Statistics said there had been a "fairly strong" performance across all sectors - but manufacturing and construction still remained below their pre-recession levels.
However, Mr Osborne told the BBC: "The rebalancing is happening because the private sector is growing".
