ONS reports increase in number of older workers

The number of unemployed people in the UK fell by 48,000 to 2.47 million between July and September, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has said.

The number of people in employment increased by 177,000 over the same quarter to just over 29.9 million.

David Freeman from the ONS gave a breakdown of the figures and said the number of older workers was at the highest level ever seen.
