Surge in demand for cheap food in Europe
In many parts of Asia, particularly in developing nations, there's a lot of cheap food for sale on the streets.
So when times are tough, it's not as hard as it is in some developed countries to feed a family.
In Europe, though, a new age of austerity has had lasting effects on ordinary families and households.
