How the Hobbit films boost New Zealand businesses

The latest film in the Hobbit film trilogy has opened in Asia this week, with premieres in Indonesia, India and the US on Friday.

While the film-makers are expecting another hit, nearly 3,000 businesses across New Zealand have also received a boost.

The country has enjoyed a higher international profile because of the Hobbit and businesses ranging from the tourism industry to the medical sector have also flourished, reports the BBC's Ashleigh Nghiem.
