Bombardier boss: We are world leader in rail transport

Bombardier boss Francis Poanessa has been talking about the company's successful bid to provide trains for the London Crossrail project.

The £1bn contract will see the Canadian firm build 65 trains at its UK plant in Derby, safeguarding 500 existing jobs and creating more than 200 others.

Dr Poanessa told BBC News why he thought Bombardier had beaten Japan's Hitachi and Spain's CAF: "We are the world leader in rail transportation and what we've done with the Crossrail bid is bring together the best of the technology, the best of the lessons that we've got across Europe and put them into our bid for London."
