UK to crack down on 'whiplash claims epidemic'

Lawyers are to be banned from offering cash or other incentives to persuade people to bring injury claims as part of a government crackdown on insurance fraud.

Courts will also be told to throw out claims which are exaggerated.

Ministers say the cost of whiplash and other injuries is making insurance policies too expensive.
