Insurers call for automated braking

Insurance companies have backed plans to implement automated braking which uses new technology to override drivers.

The Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system uses radar and sensors on the front of the car to automatically bring it to a halt if an obstruction or imminent collision is detected.
