How a Singapore family firm making sofas is changing

How do you grow a business that's made it's mark in a narrow product range, and never ventured out of its comfort zone?

It's a question faced by the founders of many companies, including the Singapore-based firm HTL.

The company started making sofas in the 1970s and has grown into one of the region's biggest producers of leather couches.

Phua Yong Tat founded the firm and now several members of the next generation of his family are involved in the business.
