UK jobless rate nears six-year low

Unemployment has fallen in the three months to the end of June by 132,000 to a six-year low of 2.08 million or 6.4%.

Over the last 12 months it has decreased at the fastest rate for 25 years.

However the rise in average earnings is only 0.6% a record low, and some way behind the rate of inflation.
