Employment at Tata plants 'toppy', says potential buyer

The founder of the firm seeking to buy some of Tata Steel's UK operations says that the employment levels at the plants look "toppy".

Gary Klesch, the chairman of Klesch Group, told the BBC's industry correspondent John Moylan that his analysis was based upon a "desktop due diligence" exercise that he had carried out.

But he added that while this would be a period of uncertainty for the 6,000 workers at Scunthorpe, Teesside and at other plants, no-one should presume that his firm would cut employment if the sale goes ahead.
