Tesco announces shop closures as figures show sales are down

Tesco has announced it will close 43 stores across the UK, which it says are unprofitable.

A "significant proportion" of these will apparently be local convenience shops.

Marks and Spencer also reported a drop in clothing sales over Christmas.
