India's Trans-Asian rail goes slow

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold top level talks in Beijing on Friday as he continues his first visit to China as leader.

The two countries are expected to sign economic and trade deals worth billion of dollars during the three day visit.

Both India and China are focused not just on trade with each other - but also with the region. China has long been investing in countries to its south, while India is pushing for a Trans-Asian rail and road network, opening its north-eastern region to Myanmar and beyond.

But the ambitious project still has a long way to go.
