NME magazine going free 'no brainer'
The long-standing music magazine NME will be distributed free from Friday.
The publication, which was founded in 1952, has been selling around 15,000 copies a week. The initial print run of the free version is 300,000.
It will now be available in places such as clothes stores, music shops and universities.
The NME's editor, Mike Williams, says an increase in advertising will not affect the quality of the product.
