George Osborne: 'Lloyds shares going on general sale'

Chancellor George Osborne has announced plans to sell shares worth at least £2bn in Lloyds Bank - in which the UK taxpayer still has a 12% stake after it had to be bailed out during the financial crisis.

Mr Osborne said that members of the public would be able to buy shares for the first time - and that they would get a discount.
