George Osborne: It would be a 'disaster' to stop building
Chancellor George Osborne has said it would be a "disaster" for the UK to stop building infrastructure projects.
The government has pledged to spend an extra £5bn on transport, energy and housing projects.
Mr Osborne was insistent the projects should be completed despite potentially affecting some people living in the locations proposed for new building.
He said he wanted a "cross-party" consensus so Parliament could come to "collective decisions".
