NUS concern at 'drop in mature student applications'

The National Union of Students has expressed concern at an apparent drop in university applications by mature students.

NUS President Liam Burns said the perception of debt would be "playing heavily in the minds of older students".

Admissions figures have revealed that university applications from UK students for the first year of higher tuition fees were down by 8.7%.
