Gove: We must 'stretch' pupils like other countries do
Education Secretary Michael Gove has unveiled plans for a new school curriculum - which aims to boost England's place in global league tables.
The new curriculum, which will begin in September 2014, includes more fractions and times tables, evolution for primary school children and computer programming for teenagers.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast, Michael Gove said, "I want to make sure that the children in our schools are being stretched just as much as children in other countries are so... they are as well equipped as any child in the world in order to succeed."
