Schools urged to ban packed lunches

It has been eight years since chef Jamie Oliver tried to banish Turkey Twizzlers from school dining halls.

But despite efforts to encourage pupils to have healthy alternatives, less than half eat what their canteens serve.

An official review of school food suggests head teachers in England should ban packed lunches to increase the take-up of cooked dinners and promote healthy eating.
