Will new school leaving age law reduce number of Neets?

Sixteen-year-olds in England will not be allowed to leave school to find work for the first time, under a new law.

The regulation means that they will have to stay in education or training for at least one more year. The move is part of the government's bid to cut down on youngsters not in education, employment or training - so-called Neets.

Critics warn it will simply delay the addition of those numbers to unemployment figures.
