Bullying victim on why attitudes to disability must change
Primary school pupils with special educational needs are twice as likely as other children to suffer from persistent bullying.
A study by London University's Institute of Education found 12% of seven-year-olds in England with special needs felt bullied all the time, compared with 6% of non-disabled peers.
It says these children have the "double disadvantage" of disability and of bullying during critical life periods.
Rosie King, 15, a Young Ambassador for the National Autistic Society, spoke to BBC Breakfast about her condition and how it has led to her being bullied throughout her years at school.
She and her mother Sharon told presenters Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty that attitudes to disability among parents and children must change.
