SNP's Stewart Hosie on Trident and defence 'daft stuff'

SNP deputy leader Stewart Hosie said Trident was a "relic of the Cold War" and accused the Westminster government of "daft stuff" over defence policy.

But he explained how the SNP could still work with Labour, despite their different views on replacing the nuclear weapons.

His comments came after Conservative Defence Secretary Michael Fallon accused the Labour leader of being prepared to "stab the United Kingdom in the back" by doing a deal on Trident with the SNP "to become prime minister".

Mr Miliband insisted Labour was committed to renewing the nuclear weapons system.
