Conservatives launch election manifesto

David Cameron launched the Conservative manifesto on Tuesday with a new right to buy scheme, helping up to 1.3 million housing association tenants in England buy their homes at a big discount.

He also pledged 30 hours of free childcare a week for three and four-year-olds in England - double what it is now - and to take people on the minimum wage out of income tax.

Mr Cameron said his party could deliver "the good life," and that the country was on the brink of "something special."
