Election debate: Sturgeon says Labour not bold enough'

SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon has criticised Labour leader Ed Miliband for not being "bold enough on his own" to offer a "real alternative to austerity", in a pre-election debate between five party leaders.

Answering an audience question on the economy, the Scottish First Minister urged voters to to support parties which could "hold [Labour] to account and make them bolder".

SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon has condemned David Cameron's failure to appear at the debate.

The leaders of the SNP, Labour, UKIP, Greens and Plaid Cymru are taking part in the BBC-hosted event.
