Ben Carson demands BBC presenter Katty Kay's mic is cut
Dr Ben Carson, a former candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, demanded that BBC presenter Katty Kay's mic was cut during a tense TV morning show interview on Donald Trump.
The outburst from Dr Carson, a surrogate for Mr Trump, came after he implied that allegations of sexual assault against the Republican nominee had been fabricated.
Asked by Katty Kay, who was co-presenting the Morning Joe show on MSNBC, external, whether this meant that the women accusers were lying, he said: "That's your characterisation because you need to characterise it that way to try to make me the bad guy."
When Kay tried to interject, Dr Carson repeatedly said "Stop" before saying to host Joe Scarborough: "Hey, can you turn her microphone off, please? Turn her microphone off so I can talk."
"No," Scarborough replied.
Several women have accused Mr Trump of groping them or kissing them forcibly since a video tape of Mr Trump making lewd remarks emerged last week. He has strongly denied the allegations.
