Lindsay Lohan sentenced to 120 days in jail

A US judge has sentenced the actress, Lindsay Lohan, to 120 days in jail, for violating the terms of her probation.

Judge Saunter ordered Lohan to serve more than 400 hours of community service, including 300 hours at a women's centre.

The judged ruled that her alleged involvement in the theft of a necklace violated the terms of her probation following a previous court case.

The actress is expected to appeal against the ruling.
