Sarah Brightman to visit International Space Station

Soprano Sarah Brightman has announced she is going into space on a Russian Soyuz rocket.

She has paid an undisclosed amount - thought to be millions of pounds - to become Britain's first space tourist.

Brightman, who had a hit in 1978 with I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper, will also become the first recording artist in space.

After touring her new album, Dreamchaser, in 2013, she plans to spend six months training with Russian cosmonauts outside Moscow.
