Frankenweenie premiere: Burton's love affair with London

The BFI London Film Festival has opened with a showing of Tim Burton's stop-motion 3D animation Frankenweenie, in Leicester Square.

The black and white film tells the story of a boy who tries to bring his pet dog Sparky back to life.

Speaking to the BBC's Lizo Mzimba on the red carpet, director Burton said that it was a "special honour" to have the film's European premiere in London.

He also told of his delight at being awarded a BFI fellowship.

"I love working here so it makes it extra special," he said.
