BBC Payments: Head of HR questioned by MPs

The BBC's head of Human Resources has faced tough questioning from MPs about why some severance packages awarded to senior BBC managers involved the corporation paying them more than it was contractually bound to.

Lucy Adams appeared before the Public Accounts Committee after the National Audit Office criticised the BBC for paying £25m to 150 outgoing managers.

She was questioned by Committee Chair Margaret Hodge about the level of pay-offs awarded.
