Astley Castle wins 2013 Riba Stirling Prize

Astley Castle, a groundbreaking modern holiday home inserted into the walls of an ancient castle, has won the 2013 Riba Stirling Prize for architecture.

The announcement was made by Riba President, Stephen Hodder, at a ceremony in London.

Accepting the prize, Steven Witherford, Director of Witherford Watson Mann Architects, praised this year's competition as a "return to values".
