Riba Stirling Prize winners Astley Castle: 'A thoughtful response to an amazing place'
The winners of the 2013 Riba Stirling Prize for architecture have spoken of how they hope the result shows that old buildings which are difficult to save "can have a new lease of life".
Witherford Watson Mann Architects won the prestigious prize for Astley Castle - a modern holiday home inserted into the walls of an ancient castle.
Dr Anna Keay, Director of the Landmark Trust, which commissioned the project, described the finished building as "a thoughtful response to an amazing place".
They spoke to the BBC's David Sillito shortly after their victory was announced.
