Wilko Johnson explains why he rejected chemotherapy

Wilko Johnson, the influential British rock guitarist and founder member of Dr Feelgood has described why he refused chemotheraphy.

The 66-year-old was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the pancreas in December last year, but turned down treatment in order to enjoy his last few months.

Johnson told BBC Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire: "The decision was quite easy - chemotherapy could do no more than extend my life for a relatively short period and I thought I'd just rather enjoy the health that was left to me."

"I accept what's going to happen and I'm very grateful for these last few months that I've had... the idea that death is imminent really makes you realise you're alive and what a wonderful thing it is."
