Lenny Henry calls for TV diversity fund

Lenny Henry says funds should be set aside to boost the presence of black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) people in the broadcasting industry.

In a lecture at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta), the actor and comedian said BAME representation - in front of and behind the camera - was "appalling" compared to their size within the British population.

Henry told BBC News that he hoped his speech would be the "start of a conversation".
