Director Mike Leigh on bringing artist Turner to life

Acclaimed film director Mike Leigh has been talking about his new movie Mr Turner, the story of the 19th century British artist William Turner.

Timothy Spall learned to paint for the title role and picked up Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival.

Leigh said that despite there being no surviving photographs of Turner, Spall embodied the character perfectly and gave "the performance of his life".
