BBC Music Sound Of 2015: George the Poet
George the Poet has come fifth in the BBC Music Sound Of 2015 new music list, which aims to showcase the rising stars to watch in the year ahead.
The list was compiled by 139 UK-based tastemakers - the majority of whom are from newspapers, magazines, blogs and commercial radio and TV. We are revealing one artist from the top five in reverse order every day until Friday, when the winner will be announced.
George Mpanga grew up on the Stonebridge Park estate in Harlesden, north west London and pursued performance poetry whilst studying politics at Cambridge.
He spoke to the BBC about the importance of education - and why he wants to get his message out.
