Trade body defends regulation amid implant controversy

The government has announced that there is no medical evidence to recommend the routine removal of the breast implants from 40,000 women in the UK.

However, it will pay for concerned NHS patients to have them removed and urged private firms to do the same.

Sally Taber, the Director of the Independent Health Advisory Services, said she believed private healthcare firms were regulated "reasonably well".
