Local doctors 'to shape local services'

The prime minister has repeated his backing for the Health Secretary Andrew Lansley, and his NHS reforms.

Writing in the Sunday Times, David Cameron said the changes were necessary if the NHS was to cope with dramatic pressures ahead.

Michael Fallon MP, Deputy Chairman, Conservative Party: "We have to get rid of the bureaucracy and put local doctors in charge of shaping local services."
