Anti-smoking ad to target young smokers

A series of hard-hitting government adverts featuring people smoking cigarettes with a tumour bulging from them is being launched in England.

The last time the Government used shock tactics to try to encourage people to stop smoking was eight years ago.

The adverts will tell smokers that just 15 cigarettes can cause a mutation that leads to cancerous tumours.

Dr Peter Mackereth, who works with people trying to quit, believes that the advert will make younger smokers in particular take note.
