British Medical Association calls for a new drug policy
A report from the British Medical Association is calling for drug addiction to be treated like any other illness.
It says prohibition has only a limited effect on deterring drug use and reducing the availability of drugs.
BBC Radio 5 live Morning Reports spoke to Dr Vivienne Nathanson, the BMA's Head of Science and Ethics and got the reaction of Mike Linnell from Lifeline, a charity that provides support for addicts.
